Main Point:  God speaks to the human heart if we take time to be still and listen.

Synopsis:

• God is trustworthy and wants His children to rest in Him and learn of His love and plan for each life.   
• The Lord’s way is one of restorative peace, calming the troubled heart. 
• God often meets us where we live and focuses our attention on the ordinary simple pleasures like the flowers of the field, or leaves on a tree.
• Subtle familiar background noises --  dogs barking in the distance, birds chirping, and gentle wind are reminders that life exists apart from our hurried schedule.
• Superimposed texts reveal God’s heart toward man: “Are you weary? Are you burdened? Come to me. Take my yoke upon you. I will give you rest. I am gentle.  I am humble in heart. Learn from me. My yoke is easy. My burden is light. You will find rest for your soul.” 
• A single leaf emerging next to a rock symbolizes fragile life thriving in His care. 

Application

•      Slow down, take a deep breath and rest in the fact that God loves you.

•      As we slow down and purpose ourselves to sit at the feet of Jesus, learning the Word, we find true peace and understanding.
