Description

Theme:

Within the complexity of creation, there is a central message of love, beauty, and truth.

Synopsis:

  • A man in a white lab coat regards a giant piece of clear plexiglass - a huge canvas, essentially.
  • After a period of contemplation he begins writing out mathematical problems on the glass.
  • He continues writing out the problems and equations, on all areas of the glass, and with multicolored pens.
  • At the very bottom of the canvass, the man draws a thick 'equals' sign.
  • Realizing he is out of room, he exits and returns with a stack of paper and a stapler.
  • He writes the following words on the paper sheets, and attaches them to the canvass; love, beauty, truth, order, function, creativity, freedom, faith, life
  • (music by Semaphores)

Conversation:

  • Do you ever feel that life, and the universe are in chaos? How do you reconcile those feelings?
  • How involved is God in the minute details of our lives and existence?
  • How essential is it that we understand God's logic, God's workflow?
  • Do you believe that God knits all things together for good?
  • There is a scripture that promises, 'In Him, all things hold together.' Do you agree with this? Why? Why not?
