Synopsis:

Application:

• The Lord is a consuming fire.
•  In the life of a follower of Christ, fire is not a burning, scorching element—but rather one that burns away dross and is an instrument of sanctification and purification.
• The single man in the fire is reminiscent of the account in Daniel 3 where Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were not consumed even though they were in the midst of the fire.

• Appropriate as sermon starter on being in the refiner’s fire.
