Description

Who is the most influential person in your life? What influences us?

    Synopsis:

  • A man-on-the street documentary, shot on the campus of Stanford University.
  • Who is the most influential person in your life?
  • What influences us?
  • How do you influence people?
  • The answers are broad. Many people state the strong influence of their parents, their desire to influence their peers, etc.
  • Some interviewees also delve into the influence of society, media, music, etc.

Conversation:

  • Is it required of us to be influential? Why / why not?
  • For most of us, our parents will have the greatest influence on us, for good or ill. How do we reconcile our family influence against our own personal will, our faith, societal expectations?
  • To what extent is it normal / healthy to be influenced by popular culture / society?
  • Most of us long to be influential people. Yet, the scriptures often teach of a humility and quiet nature that would seem to counteract what our world describes as influential people. Can one be humble and influential? How?
  • Does one need to possess age and experience to be influential? How does a younger person influence an older person?
  • To what extent do unhealthy influences assail us?
