Description

Main Point:  The kingdom of God is at hand and we’re to be the equipment—the voice pieces of that message.

Synopsis:

  • On a rainy night as people ride on a public transit bus, a Matthew 10 mandate is superimposed in today’s vernacular (see full text below). Background voices are heard throughout giving their objections to the Gospel.
  • Voices objecting to the Good News are many and varied.
  • Objections include: “I’m not into it, I went to church, I’ve got plans, There’s so many religions, I’m Muslim, I spent way too much time at church, look what church has done to us, I read the horoscope, why would God take my husband, organized religion is for fools, pray for me, the Bible is outdated, I’ll keep thinking about it”.
  • Powerful presentation—because the people riding the bus are out of focus—so the main focus is the printed text (a paraphrase of Matthew 10).
  • Good production quality.

Application:

  • We are all to bloom where we are planted.
  • Much is accomplished when we invest in the lives of people who live around us.
  • We are to love our neighbor as ourselves—and that includes sharing about the Kingdom of God.
  • This video prepares us for rejection—because many voices of objection are raised—yet as the bus moves forward—so do our lives—we wipe our feet and go on.

Suggested Uses:

  • Great training tool for evangelism outreach.
  • Also great for sermon starter for the Mission ground around the corner.
