Description

Theme:

Resurrection life is true life.

Synopsis:

  • This is first of four meditative films on the resurrection. Music by The Aviation Museum.
  • Footage of lush forest greenery with ambient music.
  • Onscreen text displays the following:
  • Resurrection life is new life. We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. Romans 6:4
  • Resurrection life is a new self. ...and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Colossians 3:10
  • Resurrection life is new power. His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3
  • Resurrection life is a new creation. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17
  • Resurrection life is a new quality of life. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. John 17:3
  • Resurrection life is a new abundance. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10
  • Resurrection life is a new confidence. For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 1:20
  • Resurrection life is Christ in you. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27

Conversation:

  • If Christ was truly raised from the dead, how should the resurrection inform our lives?
  • Is the resurrection the centerpiece of the Christian faith? Why?
  • How does Christ's conquering of death give us freedom? How should it alter our understanding of the world and our place in it?
  • The scripture passages above represent unique promises to the Christ-follower. Why is it difficult at times to claim those promises?
