Synopsis:

• Interviewer poses the question “where do you find your security” and receives vague and sometimes convoluted responses.
• Many people have no idea where they find security – or have never thought about it or simply don’t know.
• Others find security in the temporal – work, job, friends, family, or that which is familiar. Others look to physical security such as a good doctor’s report or law enforcement.
• Some find security from within. One man looks to his cat as a model of how to be at peace with the universe.
• Some find security in faith, love, and peace or a higher being. One woman who says she’s not much of a Christian looks to Hinduism. A retired man says it’s faith in God and having a good family. One may speaks of the one true God.
• A disturbing response is that there is no such thing as security – that life is a free fall without a parachute.
• Filmed in black and white; with bursts of color when various shots are frozen and shown at different angles.
• Haunting video close with a montage of various people speaking while showing a barren tree – as if to remind us that life is a desolate journey without the hope that knowing God provides.

Application:

• Application for everyone — whether looking for a good doctor’s report or needs job security
• Security is found in relationship with Jesus Christ
• Without hope in Christ, people often become fatalistic in their thinking
• Eventually all the temporal things that humans put their trust for security in will fade away
• Walking with the Lord gives a security (a peace) that is beyond understanding.
