Description

Theme: One’s perspective of Christmas is all about whether or not you know the Savior.

Synopsis:

  • Interviewer asks about the best and worst Christmas experience from an elderly couple sitting on a park bench who don’t seem to have any outstanding memories and a born-again believer who radiantly bears witness of experiencing Christmas everyday with Jesus.
  • Screen opens on Luke 2:7 “…and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son…and she wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn.
  • The believer an Indian immigrant enthusiastically testifies that his best Christmas was the first one after he knew Jesus Christ. He comments that without Christ, Christmas has no meaning in itself but if about drinking and dancing.
  • The elderly man and woman can’t pick a favorite Christmas. When asked about hard Christmases --the woman asks the man if it was after his divorce and he replies that he supposes so. His favorite thing about Christmas is the snow. Her favorite thing is family.
  • The Christian man continues to speak about Jesus bringing freedom from the clutches of sin—God saved him at an early day and every day is Christmas.
  • Filmed on a crisp early winter evening, the production quality is good.

Conversation:

  • As believers Christmas is not about the Currier and Ives or Hallmark imagery –it’s about authentic life in Christ Jesus.
  • Just as the believer in video radiates the joy of the Lord—our testimony during the Christmas season and all year long should not be one of being stressed out but rather exuding the peace and joy of the Lord.
  • The responses of the couple represent so many people who walk through life—tapped out or tuned out to what really matters.
