Description 

Main Point: Christ’s birth – his advent brought peace to mankind so the second candle of the Advent Wreath is symbolic of peace on earth incarnate which began in the obscure Bethlehem stable.

Synopsis:

  • Young girl on the cusp of her teen years pursues and senses the peace of the Lord inside a cathedral.
  • Opens on exterior of beautiful cathedral; girl smiles at dove perched on wrought iron fence.
  • Inside cathedral, girl walks down aisle in cathedral and takes a seat in a pew.
  • Outside the dove takes flight, casting a shadow over the stained glass window—the girl senses the Holy Spirit’s presence.
  • O Come, O Come Emmanuel (verse 7 ) sung throughout
  • What is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son and they will call him Emmanuel, which means God with us. Matthew 1:20-23
  • Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows. Yet we considered him stricken by God smitten by him and afflicted. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us PEACE was upon him. Isaiah 53:5

  • Do we comprehend during the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, that He is beckoning us to quiet reflection?
